Commission signs, on behalf of Euratom, an EUR 212.5 million loan for modernising Kozloduy nuclear power plant

Brussels, 29/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - On Monday, the European Commission signed, on behalf of Euratom, a loan of EUR 212.5 million for the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant (KNPP), for a modernisation and upgrading project costing around EUR 490 million. The loan will be used for the modernisation of two third-generation nuclear power units of Russian VVER 1000, and their upgrading to internationally acceptable safety levels.
