UNIÓN FENOSA has been forced by the Spanish government to withdraw its bid (public offering) on another Spanish company HIDROELÉCTRICA DEL CANTÁBRICO. The Spanish executive considers that the reduction in the number of operators would affect competition within the electricity sector in Spain. See E.I. of 29 March in particular.
