Brussels, 11/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission presented to the press on Thursday its new communication strategy on enlargement (2000-2006), which seeks not only to provide basic information to citizens of the Member States and the 13 applicant countries, but also, as Commissioner Günter Verheugen pointed out, to "involve society in the enlargement process, to give rise to dialogue with citizens and to dispel concerns related to the accession of new members".
