11/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - With the adoption of the report by Finnish Conservative Marjo Matikainen-Kallström, the European Parliament approved additional macro-financial aid to Moldova. Amounting to EUR 15 million for ten years at most, with a five year grace period, the aid aims to attenuate external financial constraints, support the balance of payments and strengthen the country's official reserves.
