European Sports Ministers recognise specificity of sport, but United Kingdom feels that it must not be included into Treaty

Lisbon, 11/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Union Sports Ministers asserted the "social dimension" of sport, during their informal meeting in Lisbon, on Wednesday. However, the United Kingdom rejected the idea of a modification of the European Union Treaty to recognise the specificity of sport.
