Brussels, 26/04/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament's vote in favour of strict Community legislation to form a future framework for procedures for marketing authorisation and the voluntary dissemination into the environment of genetically modified organisms (GMO) for experimental purposes or for crops (see EUROPE of 13 April, p.15), has given rise to generally positive reactions, albeit mitigated by strong criticism from the staunchest supporters of GMOs.
