Brussels, 31/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - This week's Transports Council welcomes the quality of the European Commission Communication on maritime safety and wholly supports measures proposed by the European executive. Favourable towards an anticipated elimination of "single hulled" tankers, the majority of Member States nevertheless wished that they are carried out in an international framework rather than a European one.
