Brussels, 06/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - The tax breaks on revenue granted in Belgium to those paying mortgage repayments are considered discriminatory and valid to be prosecuted by the European Commission. This Monday, it announced the sending of a "reasoned opinion" (second stage in the infringement procedures) to the Belgian authorities, who then have two months to react. If this does not happen that Commission may refer the case to the European Court of Justice.
