06/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - The prosecutors office of Ddiyarbakir has demanded a seven year prison sentence for three Kurdish mayors accused of supporting the PKK. The arrest of the mayors, who were put on bail on 28 February, led to strong protests on the part of the EU (see EUROPE of 2 March, p.4).
