Italy has reservations on two aspects of the free trade agreement

Brussels, 10/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - Italy will in all likelihood express reservations, at Monday's General Affairs Council, on the content of the EU/Mexico free trade agreement concluded last November. The General Affairs Council plans to adopt a declaration "welcoming" the result of the negotiations presented in January by the Commission (see EUROPE of 18 January, pp. 8-9), pending a formal legal decision.
