02/06/2026 (Agence Europe) – The European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) noted, in an analysis published on Thursday 28 May, an increase in the representation of women in the governing bodies of large listed companies in the European Union. Women held 38.2% of non-executive director seats in October 2025, compared to 34.8% in 2022. This level is close to the European target of 40% for June 2026 laid down by the relevant European directive, adopted in November 2022 (see EUROPE 12910/16). The share of women among all directors has now reached 33.6%, which is above the 33% threshold provided for by the same text. Nevertheless, it should be noted that executive positions remain largely male-dominated, as women account for only 18.5% of executive directors. Moreover, a quarter of the Member States may not yet have fully transposed the directive. The analysis: https://aeur.eu/f/m56 (NP)
