02/06/2026 (Agence Europe) – At the European Innovation Council (EIC) summit, which is being held in Brussels on Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 June, European Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation Ekaterina Zaharieva will officially launch the Scaleup Europe fund, endowed with €5 billion, and will present its manager, EQT, one of the world’s leading investment groups, selected following a competitive procedure. Nearly 2,000 participants – entrepreneurs, investors, researchers and policymakers – are expected over the two days to discuss the main issues linked to Europe’s competitiveness and technological sovereignty, notably improving companies’ access to European research and technology infrastructures. Scaleup Europe aims to support Europe’s most promising companies through financing for their growth and is expected to make its first investments in autumn 2026. (APH)
