EU Council approves Ireland’s revised multiannual budget programme

10/03/2026 (Agence Europe)On Tuesday 10 March, the Ecofin Council approved a revision of Ireland’s multiannual budget programme for the period 2026-2030 (see EUROPE 13821/24). “We worked very hard on this plan with a new, medium term approach. A plan that will continue to see us running surpluses, setting money aside into long-term savings funds, and investing more on infrastructure”, said Irish Finance Minister Simon Harris. This programme, the first to be revised due to the formation of a new government, now envisages the following trajectory for annual public spending growth: 6.6% in 2026, 6.0% in 2027, 7.6% in 2028, 6.7% in 2029 and 6.4% in 2030. See the revised multiannual budget programme for Ireland: https://aeur.eu/f/l0h (MB)
