EDRi believes YouTube is abusing personalisation of its interface and contravening European Digital Services Act

On Tuesday 10 March, the digital rights collective EDRi filed a complaint against YouTube under the Digital Services Act. 

In its complaint, the association claims that the platform “imposes a profiling-based recommendation system on users by default, without offering a genuinely accessible and relevant alternative” that does not make use of data personalisation, as required by the strictest DSA obligations to which YouTube is subject in its capacity as a ‘very large online...
