European Parliament approves Frenchman François-Louis Michaud’s appointment to head European Banking Authority

10/03/2026 (Agence Europe) – After a hearing with François-Louis Michaud, the European Parliament approved his appointment as the chairperson of the European Banking Authority (EBA) for a renewable five-year term—replacing José Manuel Campa of Spain—on Tuesday, 10 March, by a large majority (536 votes in favour, 50 against, and 29 abstentions).
