European Parliament confirms choice of Andrés Ritter as EU’s next chief prosecutor

10/03/2026 (Agence Europe) – The day after the EU Council gave the green light (see EUROPE B13824A29), MEPs meeting in plenary session in Strasbourg on Tuesday 10 March also approved (435 votes in favour, 112 against and 46 abstentions) the appointment of Andrés Ritter as European chief prosecutor to the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO).
