EU Council adopts agreement with European Parliament on driving licences and driving disqualifications

24/09/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 24 September, the Member States’ representatives to the EU (Coreper) adopted agreements with European Parliament on revising driving licences and driving disqualifications. The aim of the first text is to update the minimum requirements for driver fitness, harmonise the rules on probationary periods for novice drivers and create an accompanied driving scheme (see EUROPE B13607A7).
