24/09/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 23 September, the EU condemned the Israeli army’s strike in southern Lebanon on Sunday 21 September, which killed at least 5 civilians, including 3 children. Tzahal explained that it was aimed at a Hezbollah militant. “This incident follows an escalation of IDF attacks and warnings”, said the spokesman for the European External Action Service in a statement. He reiterated the EU’s call for full respect for and implementation of the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel. “Security concerns should be addressed by making full use of the monitoring mechanism established in the framework of the ceasefire agreement”, explained the spokesman. In his view, the Lebanese government’s determined efforts to establish a State monopoly on the possession of weapons should be supported by all. (CG)
