24/09/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 24 September, the Foreign Affairs Ministers of the countries of the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean agreed that the EU/CELAC Summit (9-10 November in Colombia) represents “a key opportunity to consolidate the alliance around the triple transition - green, digital, and social”. In their joint declaration adopted on the fringes of the United Nations General Assembly, they stress the importance of strengthening cooperation against “cross-border organised crime” and making progress on the implementation of “existing and future trade agreements”. Ministers reaffirm their commitment to the Rule of law, multilateralism and a rules-based international order. They also rejected the use of force against territorial integrity and spoke out “in favour of lasting peace in Ukraine, the Occupied Palestinian Territories and in other conflicts around the globe, including Haiti”.
