10/07/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 10 July, the European Commission launched a call for contributions and a public consultation (https://aeur.eu/f/ht8 ) on the future of the Union’s procedures for enforcing EU competition rules. Based on the results of an evaluation finalised in September 2024 (see EUROPE 13476/15), it has decided to launch the process of revising the rules concerned, “notably with the aim of keeping up with transformative changes such as digitalisation of the economy”. The call for contributions will focus on the main points that the Commission plans to revise in the regulations, in particular its investigative powers, certain aspects of its decision-making powers, the procedure for access to the Commission’s file and for participation in investigations, and optimising co-enforcement with national courts and competition authorities. The call for contributions and public consultation will be open for 12 weeks, until 2 October 2025. (CG)
