MEPs call for release of Ryan Cornelius

10/07/2025 (Agence Europe) – In the resolution it adopted on Thursday 10 July (511 votes in favour, 50 against and 75 abstentions), the European Parliament condemned the arbitrary and prolonged detention of Ryan Cornelius, a British national “arbitrarily detained in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) since 2008, following a conviction on false fraud charges related to a loan from Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) for a property development project”.
