On Thursday 10 July, the S&D group in the European Parliament argued that the regions must remain at the heart of cohesion policy and its management, ahead of the presentation of the European Commission's proposals on the EU's multiannual financial framework (MFF) for 2028-2034.
In a press release, the group believes that it would be counter-productive for the European Commission to centralise the management of cohesion policies in the hands of national governments (see other news).
