European Parliament discusses citizens’ initiative in favour of preserving regional cultures

On Thursday 10 July in Strasbourg, MEPs debated a European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) put forward by the ECR group, entitled ‘Cohesion policy for the equality of the regions and sustainability of regional cultures’.

Bogdan Rzońca (ECR, Polish) explained that this ECI had been supported by more than 1.2 million Europeans. This initiative calls on the European Commission to take concrete steps to ensure that regional policy more effectively promotes equality between regions,...
