14/05/25 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 12 May, the European Commissioner for Intergenerational Equality, Youth, Culture and Sport, Glenn Micallef, announced the winners of the BeInclusive EU Sport Awards. These awards recognise sporting initiatives that promote inclusion, equality and peace. The ‘Breaking Barriers’ prize was awarded to the Polish club Bushido for its inclusive and transnational karate project. Fútbol Más France, the French branch of a Chilean organisation that uses sport as a tool for social development, won the ‘Be Equal award for its ‘District Spot’ programme, run by and for teenage girls in Paris (France). Finally, the ‘Sport for Peace’ prize was awarded to the Lietuvos Etnosporto Komitetas organisation, or Lithuanian Ethnic Sports Committee, for an initiative involving traditional sports, intercultural dialogue and support for young people affected by conflict.
