17/06/24 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission’s decision (2024/1697) establishing the Ukraine Facility Audit Board until June 2028 was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on Monday 17 June. Composed of three members based in Brussels for a renewable two-year term and assisted by a secretariat based in Kyiv, this body will assist the EU institution in the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of Ukraine’s management and control systems with regard to the funds provided under the Facility. The Audit Board will submit reports to the Commission at least every three months, together with recommendations to Ukraine on any cases where, in its opinion, the competent Ukrainian authorities have not taken the necessary measures to prevent, detect and correct fraud, corruption, conflicts of interest and irregularities.
