17/06/24 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 17 June, the EU Council decided to extend until 23 June 2025 the sanctions introduced by the EU in response to the illegal annexation of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol by the Russian Federation in June 2014 (see EUROPE 11106/2). The measures include bans on imports into the EU of products originating in Crimea or Sevastopol, and on investment in infrastructure, financial services and tourist services from these illegally annexed territories. In addition, exports of certain goods and technologies to companies in Crimea or for use in Crimea in the transport, telecommunications and energy sectors or for the prospecting, exploration and production of oil, gas and mineral resources are also subject to restrictions.
