14/05/24 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 13 May, the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) published its REMIT quarterly report for the first quarter of 2024 (REMIT Quarterly), aimed at ensuring the transparency and integrity of the energy markets and preventing manipulation. This 36th edition looks at a breach of the REMIT regulation on the Italian gas market, where the national energy regulator, ARERA, fined ENET Energy S.A. €940,000. The report records and presents 361 sanction decisions for potential breaches of REMIT for 2024, which were under review at the end of the quarter. ACER also reports on the revision of the REMIT II regulation, which came into force on 7 May (see EUROPE 13393/34), and presents a workshop devoted to its implementation, which will take place in June.
