04/03/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 4 March, the European Commission announced the disbursement of €150 million in budget support to Tunisia. This support provided by the EU is part of the programme of support for Tunisia’s macroeconomic reforms (PARME) agreed in December 2023 and the implementation of the memorandum of understanding on a strategic and comprehensive partnership signed in July 2023. According to the European Commission, this disbursement is intended to support Tunisia in stabilising its macroeconomic situation and in its efforts to improve the management of public finances and the business climate. It “strengthens the State’s capacity to ensure stable and inclusive growth, and confirms the EU’s commitment to supporting Tunisia on the path of economic reform in the current socio-economic context”, according to the Commission.
