04/03/2024 (Agence Europe) – Following ratification in the European Parliament on 7 February (see EUROPE 13345/9), the EU Council adopted its decision to conclude the EU-Angola sustainable investment facilitation agreement. This step paves the way for the text to enter into force, once it has been ratified by Angola. The agreement will oblige both parties to make their investment legislation more transparent, simplify authorisation procedures and open a single point of contact for investors. According to the EU, this should provide a major boost to investment in both directions, as well as enabling Angola to diversify its economy. (LM)
