04/03/24 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 4 March, the EU Council adopted the text of the provisional agreement on ‘Interoperable Europe’ (see EUROPE 13292/7), the last legislative step before it is published in the Official Journal of the EU. The text was approved by MEPs in plenary session on 6 February. This text provides for the establishment of an interoperability governance structure, with a view to creating an ecosystem of shared solutions for the EU’s public sector. “The new law will enable public administrations across Europe to cooperate more effectively, thus saving time and costs for our citizens and businesses”, commented Mathieu Michel, Belgian Secretary of State for Digitisation, following the unanimous vote in favour of adoption.
