The EU Council is ready to start negotiations with the European Parliament on the targeted revision of the Mercury Regulation (EU) 2017/852, proposed by the European Commission last July, to transpose the Minamata International Convention by imposing additional restrictions on the use of this heavy metal in dental amalgams and on trade in certain lamps containing added mercury.
