20/11/23 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 20 November, the European Commission inaugurated a support scheme for trade in Cyprus. This ‘Single Window’ aims to facilitate trade across the Green Line that divides the island between the Turkish-controlled part and the Republic of Cyprus. This service is designed to provide information and technical assistance to companies and will be available in Greek, Turkish and English, with a trilingual website. It will detail the EU standards and requirements with which Cypriot products of Turkish origin must comply when placed on the EU market. Mario Nava, Director General of DG for Structural Reform Support, highlighted the “strong partnership and cooperation between the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry”, describing them as “key partners in [this] initiative”.
