2024 budget, EU Council validates agreement reached with European Parliament

The EU Council has approved the joint draft general budget for 2024, agreed with the European Parliament in the Conciliation Committee on 11 November(see EUROPE B13291A22). 

Total commitments amount to €189.39 billion and total payments to €142.63 billion. An amount of €360 million has been kept available under the expenditure ceiling of the current Multiannual Financial Framework for 2021-2027 (MFF) in order to respond to unforeseen needs.
