11/10/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission is granting €34 million in additional humanitarian aid to Colombia, the country where Commissioner for Crisis Management Janez Lenarčič began his tour of Latin America on Tuesday, 11 October (staying until 13 October). These funds will help address the needs of the most vulnerable—those affected by conflict, particularly Afro-Colombians and indigenous communities; populations impacted by natural disasters; as well as refugees and their host communities. Of this amount, €22 million has been earmarked for the populations affected by the Venezuelan crisis. The commissioner will visit aid projects in Colombia’s Pacific region as well as meet with government representatives and UN agencies. He will next travel to Panama. (AN)
