European Commission and EIT want to train 1 million Europeans in disruptive technologies by 2025

The European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Mariya Gabriel, announced on Tuesday 11 October at the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT) summit the launch of the “Deep Tech Talent Initiative”.

This initiative is led by the EIT and aims to provide training in disruptive technologies - those technologies that combine science and engineering, to Europeans - at all levels of education. The EIT wants to train 1 million Europeans in the various disciplines of disruptive technologies by 2025.

This is one of the flagship initiatives of the European Innovation Agenda (see EUROPE 12986/15).

The EIT invites stakeholders - Member States, partners, universities, research institutes, industry representatives, etc. - to support this initiative through an online pledge.
