28/10/2021 (Agence Europe)On Thursday 28 October a group of MEPs from the ID and ECR groups as well as some non-attached MEPs opposed the decision by the Bureau of the European Parliament to impose the use of the EU Digital Covid-19 Certificate for entry to the institution’s buildings in the European Parliament’s three places of work from 3 November (see EUROPE 12821/20). Christine Anderson (ID, Germany), Francesca Donato (NI, Italy), Mislav Kolakusic (NI, Croatia), Bert-Jan Ruissen (ECR, the Netherlands), Ivan Sincic (NI, Croatia) and Cristian Terhes (ECR, Romania), among others denounced the fact that “healthy people are being deprived of their fundamental rights and freedoms.” These politicians also attacked the Commission’s lack of transparency regarding its contracts with manufacturers.
