02/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – “Evaluate the safety of online workspace for women” and better understand the new forms of sexual harassment that have emerged during the Covid-19 crisis. To this end, the MeTooEP collective launched a survey on Twitter, the results of which were presented on Monday, June 2. Within the context of this survey, 888 people reported being victims of harassment, online threats, and ‘zoom-bombing’—in other words, intrusion into a videoconference by an uninvited person disrupting the meeting—during the lockdown. Nearly 63% of respondents also indicated that their workplace had no measures to combat sexual harassment. MeTooEP has, in fact, called on human resources departments, including those of the European institutions, to take immediate action to combat old and new forms of harassment. (AC)
