02/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Tuesday 2 June the termination of its anti-dumping proceeding concerning European imports of glass fibre reinforcements from Bahrain and Egypt. As the complainant withdrew its complaint on 19 March, the institution decided to close the procedure as the investigation had revealed "no evidence that it would not be in the Union's interest", according to the Implementing Decision published in the Official Journal of the EU. The investigation was launched in May 2019 at the initiative of the European Glass Fibre Producers Association on behalf of producers representing more than 25% of total EU production - an initiative supported at the time by producers representing 71% of total EU production of glass fibres (see EUROPE 12323/16).
