Parliament in favour of extending beer import restrictions in Finland

Strasbourg, 21/12/2005 (Agence Europe) - On 13 December, the European Parliament adopted the report by Pervenche Berès (PES, France) concerning temporary quantitative restrictions of beer imports into Finland (consultation procedure). MEPs thus approved the European Commission's proposal amending Directive 69/169/EEC, extending current restrictions till 31 December 2006 and raising the level of beer import limits for third country travellers from six to sixteen litres per person.
