Commission brings five Member States before Court of Justice for failing to transpose directives on internal gas and electricity markets into national legislation

Brussels, 06/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission decided on Tuesday to bring Spain, Estonia, Ireland, Greece and Luxembourg before the European Court of Justice for failing to transpose one or both of two European directives of June 2003 on the liberalisation of the electricity and gas markets into their national legislation. It also sent a reasoned opinion to Portugal for its failure to transpose the directive on the internal market for electricity into its legislation. The...
