06/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - In Strasbourg on Tuesday, the European Parliament endorsed the draft directive updating the December 1969 directive on combatting potato cyst nematodes. The proposal was adopted by the European Commission on 20 April 2005, setting out new measures to be taken in the Member States to combat potato cyst nematodes, to determine distribution and prevent propagation and stamp out infection.
