Brussels, 06/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has authorised the Germany company Continental AG to acquire its compatriot Xtra Print Holding GmbH. Continental carries out various activities in the technical rubber products and automobile sectors. It is also present in the development, production and sales of blankets (sheets which regulate the transfer of printing ink to the printing surface). Xtra Print is also active at world level in developing, producing and sales of blankets for the printing sector. The Commission established that the operation would not significantly affect competition on the blanket market and that the market share accumulated by Continental would not allow it to steal a march on several powerful and well-established competitors which occupy important positions on the market.
