06/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday, the European Commission approved a total of € 54.30 million aid granted by Italy at the end of the 1990's for the rationalisation and restructuring of the beef sector. The Commission also gave the go-ahead to intervention by FINAGRA, a holding company majority controlled by the Italian state and specialising in the acquisition of shareholdings, the granting of loans and the issuing of guarantees to agricultural companies.
