Germany's budget deficit hits 4% of GDP in first half of 2004

Brussels, 24/08/2004 (Agence Europe) - Speaking to reporters on Tuesday about the new estimate of Germany's budget deficit for 2004, Gerassimos Thomas, Commission spokesperson for economic and monetary affairs, said the Commission was sticking to its own April estimate for the moment (of a budget deficit of 3.6% GDP in 2004).
