Commission continues to pursue legal action against Member States for failing to respect environmental rules

Brussels, 16/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission is continuing to pursue legal action against Member States for failing to respect EU environmental rules (see earlier issues from the beginning of July 2004). On Thursday, it decided to launch proceedings against Italy, Portugal and the United Kingdom.

Against Italy, the Commission is launching no less than 28 cases for infringement of legislation, taking Rome to the European Court of Justice for illegal fly-tipping and waste...
