Appeal by IEM chair José Maria Gil-Robles

Brussels, 15/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - In a press release, José Maria Gil-Robles, the President of the International European Movement, has criticised the "sad record of the low turnout rate for the European elections". According to the former President of the European Parliament (who did not stand at these latest elections), "only the European Constitution is able to mobilise the citizens". For this reason, he is calling upon the European Council to approve the Constitution.
