15/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - The WTO agreement on public procurement (GPA) has been extended to the enlarged European Union, the Commission announced on Tuesday. This extension will allow businesses of the new Member States to respond to calls for tender in the signatory countries (EU, Switzerland, US, Canada, Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea) and vice versa. The GPA guarantees non-discriminatory treatment and transparency in adjudication proceedings, amongst other things.
