Paris and Berlin make their request for harmonised corporate taxation official - Commission continues to object

Brussels, 28/05/2004 (Agence Europe) - In a letter dated 26 May addressed to Commissioner Frits Bolkenstein, French Economy and Finance Minister Nicolas Sarkozy and his German opposite number for finance, Hans Eichel, call on the European Commission (for the first time officially) to present "as rapidly as possible, concrete proposals aimed at creating common bases for corporate taxation and, if possible, defining minimum rates".
