Poland will next Thursday recover judgement for the sale of 300000 tonnes of cereals

Brussels, 28/05/2004 (Agence Europe) - Poland is due to get the green light from the member states at the relevant management committee meeting next Thursday for the sale at intervention of 300000 tonnes of cereals from the national stocks (see EUROPE of 18 May 2004, p.13). The European Commission is preparing the proposal which would authorise this "running down of stocks", albeit on specific conditions: 1) the sale would have to take place according to the Community tendering procedure; 2)...
