Parliament paves way for agreement with council on hygiene rules for animal feed

Strasbourg, 06/04/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday the European Parliament adopted in first reading the report by Hedwig Keppelhoff-Wiechert (CDU) supporting most aspects of the proposal on hygiene demands on animal feed, which therefore paves the way for an agreement with the Council.

The Commission proposes harmonious provisions for hygiene for all producers in the animal food sector as well as stricter measures to guarantee traceability in the even of illegal pollution. The new...
